So thank you Penny, for giving me the opportunity!<\/p>\n<p><em>1. What am I working on?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Er.. How long have you got? My long term project is the<a title=\"Posts tagged &quot;Dreams of Amarna&quot;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.blog.virtuosewadventures.co.uk\/wordpress\/tag\/dreams-of-amarna\/\" target=\"_blank\"> Dreams of Amarna<\/a>, but at the moment I&#8217;m also following the Opus Anglicanum Stitch A Long, and now the weather is closing in, I will soon be back to the <a title=\"Posts tagged &quot;Crazy Canvaswork Cushion!\" href=\"http:\/\/www.blog.virtuosewadventures.co.uk\/wordpress\/tag\/crazy-canvaswork-cushion\/\" target=\"_blank\">Crazy Canvaswork Cushion<\/a>. How does my work differ from others of its genre?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I tend not to stick to a single type of embroidery, so there is a lot of cross-fertilisation between the styles of embroidery I use, and the way in which I use them.\u00a0 However, unlike a lot of similarly eclectic embroiderers, I rarely work anything truly abstract: there&#8217;s usually a story somewhere at the back of any piece I work. Two more long term projects I have plans for when Dreams of Amarna is done are panels relating to <a title=\"Post tagged The Golden Fleece\" href=\"http:\/\/www.blog.virtuosewadventures.co.uk\/wordpress\/tag\/golden-fleece\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Golden Fleece<\/a> and <a title=\"Posts tagged &quot;Vision of Placidus&quot;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.blog.virtuosewadventures.co.uk\/wordpress\/tag\/vision-of-placidus\/\" target=\"_blank\">The Conversion of Placidus<\/a>. How does my writing\/creating process work?<\/em><\/p>\n<p>It varies very\u00a0 much with the project in question. For the Dreams of Amarna, I have read and re-read the book &#8220;Nefertiti Lived Here&#8221; by Mary Chubb, I have visited the <a title=\"The Egypt Exploration Society\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ees.ac.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Egypt Exploration Society<\/a> and the <a title=\"Petrie Museum\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ucl.ac.uk\/museums\/petrie\" target=\"_blank\">Petrie Museum<\/a>, the <a title=\"Blog post about &quot;Tutankhamun - his tomb and treasures&quot;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.blog.virtuosewadventures.co.uk\/wordpress\/2011\/03\/15\/dreams-of-amarna-more-research\/\" target=\"_blank\">Treasures of Tutankhamun<\/a> exhibition and <a title=\"Discovering Tutankhamun at the Ashmolean\" href=\"http:\/\/www.ashmolean.org\/exhibitions\/discovertut\/about\/\" target=\"_blank\">Discovering Tutankhamun<\/a> at the Ashmolean and I have taken a course in working with metal threads. She crafts thoughtfully using a range of techniques, many of which I know I wouldn&#8217;t be good at, so I have the greatest admiration for her.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<div><\/div>\n<ul>\n<li>Jules has recently started a new blog, <a title=\"Needle and Pen\" href=\"http:\/\/needleandpen.blogspot.co.uk\/\" target=\"_blank\">Needle and Pen<\/a>, since she felt that her earlier blog no longer allowed space for her changing interests in craft and art.
